2011 Honda Civic

The Problem: Fuel tank roll over valves on affected vehicles may have been damaged during assembly according to the manufacturer. In the event of a roll-over accident, fuel may leak from the car increasing the chances of a fire. No injuries of deaths have been reported as a result of the issue.

The Fix: Customers of affected vehicles will be notified by mail in the near future, and will be prompted to take their car to a nearby dealership. Service technicians will inspect the fuel pump module and replace it if necessary. Customers can find further information on the recall by visiting Honda’s website, or by calling 1-800-999-1009, and selecting option 4.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 18,056 model year 2011 Civics manufactured between November 1st 2010 and December 16th 2010. It is estimated that less than 1 percent of the units recalled contain the defect.

2010 Jaguar XF and XK

The Problem:
Power steering pipes found in the affected vehicles feature zinc-nickel plating that may corrode over time and fail after extended use. If the pipes fail, steering fluid will leak causing the loss of assisted steering and increase the risk of a fire.

The Fix: Customers will be prompted to take their cars to a nearby dealer which will replace the defective parts free of charge. Jaguar will begin contacting customers in the coming weeks. Customers can contact the manufacturer by phone at 1-800-452-4827.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 6085 model year 2010 Jaguar XF and XK manufactured between June 27th 2009 and March 2010.
