Recall Central: 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey, 2003 Acura MDX

Honda recalls 374,000 vehicles for SRS airbag issues.

The Problem: The SRS airbag system in the 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey minivan and 2003 Acura MDX crossover may be affected by electrical interference, meaning that the airbags could inadvertently deploy. The vehicles’ SRS control units are similar to those in some non-Honda vehicles that were recalled within the last year. Although Honda has received “an increasing number” of reports of airbag deployment, the company said in a statement that there are no reports of crashes due to the issue.

The Fix: Honda dealers will install an electrical noise filter in the SRS control unit with no charge to owners.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 374,000 vehicles total, including 318,000 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey vehicles and 56,000 2003 Acura MDX vehicles.
