As they near the sunset of their model runs after nearly a decade on the market, Nissan continues to incrementally update the 2014 Nissan Frontier and Xterra. No major mechanical changes are in store for 2014, with the 2.5-liter I-4 and 4.0-liter V-6 still serving as the base and upgrade powerplants. But option packages and features get an upgrade for the new model year.
The starting price of the base I-4 Frontier S King Cab with manual transmission is unchanged at $17,990. However, destination and handling increases a modest $15 for 2014, bringing the starting price to $18,850. Pricing for the 2014 Nissan Xterra increases modestly for the new model year, with the starting price of the X 4×2 automatic going from $23,785 to $23,970, including $860 destination and handling.
Heated front cloth seats are added as part of many of the Frontier and Xterra trim levels or option packages, and all Frontier models except that base King Cab S with the manual transmission get a standard manual horizontal sliding rear window. The NissanConnect mobile device integration system with navigation gets an update for 2014, including “one shot” voice destination entry.
At the top of the price range, the Frontier SL Crew Cab 4×4 long-wheelbase V6 automatic goes from $34,645 to $35,030, including destination.
