The Audi R8 returns for the 2014 model year refreshed, and with pricing that starts at $119,150. The car goes on sale today, along with the $174,795 Audi R8 V10 Plus. All R8 prices include a $1250 destination fee and $3000 gas guzzler tax.
The big news for the 2014 Audi R8 is the addition of the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, available with both engines. Audi says the 2014 R8 V10 Plus can accelerate from 0-62 mph 0.3 seconds quicker thanks to the new transmission. The 2014 Audi R8‘s 4.2-liter V-8 is good for 430 hp and 316 lb-ft of torque while the 5.2-liter V-10 produces 525 hp and 391 lb-ft. Go for the R8 V10 Plus and you’ll get 550 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.
2014 Audi R8 Pricing
The seven-speed transmission is a $9100 option on every 2014 Audi R8 coupe and Spyder, the latter of which carries a $13,500 premium over the coupe. The least expensive R8 is a manual-transmission R8 V8 at $119,150. The 2014 R8 V8 Spyder goes for $132,650. When 430 hp just isn’t enough, there’s always the Audi R8 V10, which for the 2014 model year goes for $155,450 and $168,950 for the R8 V10 Spyder.
Then there’s the new R8 V10 Plus, which is about 130 pounds less than the R8 V10 thanks to ceramic brakes, carbon fiber accents, a smaller fuel tank, reduced sound insulation, and manual Alcantara seats. The 2014 Audi R8 V10 Plus costs $174,795 with the manual and $183,895 with the seven-speed transmission. There is no R8 V10 Spyder Plus model.
