Pink Chevrolet Camaro SS Pace Car To Raise Money For Breast Cancer Charity

Chevrolet Racing will take a special pink Camaro SS pace car to a NASCAR race this weekend in order to raise money for a breast cancer charity. For every lap of the race that the Camaro paces, Chevrolet will donate $200 to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative.
Chevrolet actually performed the exact same charity stunt last year, with a pink Camaro SS that served as a pace car for the 2011 NASCAR AdvoCare 500 race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Because there were 64 caution laps during the race, Chevrolet donated $12,800 to the breast cancer charity. This year, the pink Chevrolet Camaro SS will once again appear at the AdvoCare 500 race on Sunday.
Ahead of the actual race, Chevrolet will host 30 breast cancer survivors at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for rides in the Camaro SS pace car, as well as opportunities to meet NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray, Ron Hornaday Jr., and Danica Patrick.
In September, Chevrolet plans to announce more activities to benefit the American Cancer Society, ahead of October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
