One-Off Aston Martin DB9 1M Styled By Facebook Fans

Aston Martin launched a social media campaign late last year to celebrate hitting 1 million fans on Facebook. That campaign allowed Aston’s Facebook fans to help design a special one-off model, letting users vote on everything from which leather trim and stitching to use, to which model to start with. The input from Aston’s Facebook fans helped produce the special model, which was just unveiled in the form of the DB9 1M.

The one-off model began life as a standard DB9, and was built to fans’ collective specifications at the company’s Gaydon plant. The DB9 1M’s dark blue exterior paint is accented by a unique “aero” wrap. That unusual-looking wrap was picked by fans from four possible exterior treatments, which included one resembling the iconic Gulf racing livery. The signature Aston Martin grille is outlined by a white-finished frame that matches the color of the wrap’s wind tunnel streaks. The car rides on multi-spoke wheels, which match the car about as well as the rest of the fan-chosen exterior elements.

While the campaign was a novel idea, we question the end result. What do you think – should this special-edition model remain a one-off or should Aston Martin produce a limited run of the DB9s? Share your opinion in the comments section below.
