On October 22, 1969, Datsun sold its first Z car — a 240Z — in North America. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Z, Nissan is launching a special edition 370Z early next year.
Based upon a 370Z Touring with the sport package, the 40th Anniversary Z is largely a cosmetic package. As such anniversaries are typically celebrated with rubies, Nissan’s trimed the interior with ruby red leather, and added red emblems and brake calipers to the car’s exterior. All 40th Anniversary 370Zs are painted in a special quartz color, fitted with tinted 19-inch Rays aluminum wheels, and come with a special satin car cover.
The special 370Z will arrive at dealers next spring. Nissan hasn’t announced pricing for the 40th Anniverary package, but it will likely command a slight premium over the $38,160 price tag for a similar Touring with Sport Package.
