Although we already know the skinny on the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe and have driven the 2012 SLK350, it never hurts to see them in the buff again. And buff they are.
Dressed in clean white paint with carbon fiber and piano black accents, the C63 AMG Coupe looks as though it is a body builder fresh from the gym in his tight, white t-shirt. Its lines are muscular and bulging in all the right places; the rear end has a short deck, and is pert as though the car had been doing squats seven days a week. The C63 is more than just a pretty face, too — packed under the hood is AMG’s 6.2-liter, naturally aspirated V-8 pumping out 451 horsepower. It can sing too: its exhaust note on startup is down-right intoxicating.
Less sinewy is the 2012 SLK350, though it is far from being an ugly duckling. The SLK wears smooth, simple lines from head to tail, with front and rear fascias drawing inspiration from its SLS AMG big brother. There is no reason why the SLK won’t turn heads from city to shore, especially in the fire-engine red paint scheme presented to us today at the New York auto show.
The 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe hits dealerships this fall, and just in time for summer fun, the 2012 Mercedes SLK350 will be on sale starting this June.
