New “Electric Avenue” Will Be Part of 2010 Detroit Auto Show

Much like the eco-friendly display at last year’s Detroit auto show, the 2010 North American International Auto Show this year will again have an area devoted to electric vehicles. But this time it will be on the main floor, not in the basement.

“Electric Avenue is going to be a unique feature of the 2010 NAIAS that will enable us to educate a diverse audience about the longterm viability of the auto industry using a subject that is top of mind globally these days,” said show Chairman Doug Fox.

The 37,000-square-foot exhibit will display EVs from major automakers and start-ups. Approximately 20 cars will be on display, and like last year, there will be a small track for consumer test drives. (We hope the aromatic mulch, however, won’t return.)
