Mopar’s version of the new 2013 Dodge Dart compact sedan has been priced at $26,480, including destination. The bolder Dart goes on sale this summer, and only 500 units will be produced.
For $26,480, the Mopar 2013 Dodge Dart comes with Pitch Black paint complemented by a Mopar blue stripe. While the driver’s seat is finished in the same blue color, the rest of the Katzkin-leather-covered seats are black with blue accents. While the Mopar Dart still uses an unchanged 160-hp turbocharged 1.4-liter I-4 with 184 lb-ft of torque and a six-speed manual transmission, ride height is lowered a little, and the steering has been retuned.
Gloss-black 18-inch wheels with low-profile tires, a Mopar body kit, a deck-lid spoiler, a retuned exhaust system, and upgraded disc brakes with slotted rotors complete the package. On the inside, the Mopar Dart has Dodge’s 8.4-inch touch-screen navigation display, wireless charging for smartphones, and premium Mopar floor mats. And since this is a 500-unit limited-edition model, each Mopar 2013 Dart will come with a personalized plate with vehicle specs and a sketch of the car signed by Mopar designer Mark Trostle.
For those who still balk at the idea of a $26,480 compact, consider that a 2013 Dart with the navigation system, nine-speaker sound system, turbo 1.4-liter I-4 instead of the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter I-4, six-speed dual-clutch automatic, leather seats, hands-free keyless entry, LED “racetrack taillights, and automatic highbeams costs just as much as the Mopar 2013 Dodge Dart.
