McLaren Announces North American Dealerships and Headquarters

Our prayers for a road-legal McLaren for sale in the United States have finally been answered. Adding to the 35 dealers announced earlier this year, McLaren has announced its New York City headquarters as well as six dealer candidates to sell the 2012 MP4-12C supercar.

“The North American market provides a huge opportunity for McLaren and will be a benchmark for our future business aspirations,” McLaren’s managing director Antony Sheriff said in a press release. “We anticipate that the region will see 30 percent of the global sales, so it was vital for us to identify experienced retailers with a passion for customer service.”

The Woking, England-based automaker announced the six cities in which its MP4-12C supercar will be offered when it becomes available next summer. Sprinkled throughout the lower 48, the candidates to sell McLarens are high-end luxury dealerships, including The Auto Gallery in Beverly Hills, Calif.; Lake Forest Sportscars in Chicago, Ill.; Park Place in Dallas, Texas; Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, Conn.; Price Family Dealerships in San Francisco, Calif.; and Dew Luxury Motor Cars in Tampa Bay, Fla. An announcement for dealers in Miami, the West Coast, additional cities in the northeastern U.S., and Canada, are expected to come soon.

“Owning a car with high performance that is incredibly entertaining to drive is not enough. The ownership experience must be just as revolutionary as the car,” Sheriff said.

Sales, marketing, aftersales, and retailer development responsibilities will be conducted at McLaren’s New York City headquarters.

The MP4-12C is expected to hit U.S. retailers next summer, likely priced in the range of $225,000 to $250,000, putting it right in the mix of its strongest competitors. The automaker expects nearly 300 of its annual run of 1000 units to arrive in the U.S. Later this summer, the MP4-12C will make its North American debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August.
