Lotus Headquarters and Test Track Now on Google Street View

Thanks to Google Street View, Lotus enthusiasts can now take a virtual lap on the British automaker’s private test track.

Lotus recently invited Google to take a look around Lotus’ Headquarters in Hethel, England, giving enthusiasts a look at where the sports cars are produced and tested. Pictures of various parts of the headquarters and test track are available for viewing online, as are several videos.

“We decided to give Street View users an opportunity to look around part of the Lotus HQ and to virtually drive the test track,” said Nigel Marshall, head of facilities management for Lotus. “Only a select number of drivers have driven the Lotus circuit over the years, but now anyone can get a closer look at where some of the most iconic British sports and racing cars have been tested and developed.”

Cars included on the Google Street View virtual drive are a Lotus 2-Eleven, a research and development Exige 265E, and several Evora prototypes. Click here to view the headquarters and see some cars in action on the test track.
