Limited Edition Cat: 2011 Jaguar XKR175 Unveiled at Pebble Beach

To properly celebrate its 75th anniversary, Jaguar has created limited-edition cars, such as the XKR 75. The latest special edition cat, the 2011 XKR 175, is set for to debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The XKR 75 Jaguar unveiled earlier this year, which sported a revised suspension, aerodynamics, and engine, was engineered to be the ultimate feline to ever come out of the company. Modifications to the XKR175 are much less extensive, as the engine and suspension are left unchanged, but the car does get a revised aerodynamic package.

The XKR175 receives a new front air dam, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a larger spoiler — the same changes found in the optional XKR Speed Pack. All of these changes help make the car more stable at speed by creating more downforce, and top speed rises accordingly from 155 to 174 mph. Powering the XKR175 is the same XKR’s supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, which produces 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, and is capable of moving the XKR175 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.

No special edition model is complete without a bespoke exterior and interior, and the XKR175 features a special Ultimate Black exterior paint color along with new 20-inch Kasuga wheels. Red brake calipers stand out to complete the exterior changes. The interior is a special affair, with special door sills reading “XKR175 — 1 of 175” and the vehicle’s production number, and special Warm Charcoal leather with contrasting cranberry stitching. Additional trim pieces are finished in Piano Black.

As its name hints, only 175 of these special XKRs will be produced. Each will carry an MSRP of $104,500 including destination, and should hit dealerships later this year.
