Just in time for the start of the DTM season, Leslie Mandoki has produced an upbeat new song to accompany Audi Motorsport’s DTM team. As fate would have it, Mandoki, a successful German music producer, also happens to be a big fan of DTM racing.
Mandoki’s song is called “Is ThereA Dream Left.” He says, “The song is a hymn of praise for the successful Audi drivers and motorsport.” The idea came about when Mandoki was contracted as the music director for the market launch of the Q7 SUV. That project put Mandoki in contact with the DTM scene and gave him the idea to produce a song dedicated to Audi’s racers.
The song will be sung by Bobby Kimball and Chris Thompson. Kimball’s claim to fame was his role as the lead singer of the band Toto. Thompson became famous as the lead singer of as Manfred Mann’s Earthband. His former hits include oldies-but-goodies such as “Davy’s On the Road Again” and “Blinded By the Light.”
“Is ThereA Dream Left” isn’t quite as inspirational as songs like Bon Jovi’s “Livin on a Prayer,” but it’s still a good fit for Audi Motorsport’s 2009 season. This season Audi does, in fact, have two historic “dreams.” In DTM it hopes to become the first auto manufacturer to win the title three years in a row. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Audi hopes to achieve its ninth overall victory to tie Ferrari on the perennial list of the best contenders.
