Land Rover Updates Defender DC100 for the L.A. Auto Show

To help get ready for the North American debut of the DC100 and DC100 Sport concepts at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, Land Rover has tweaked the duo ever so slightly – the DC100 has received a new paint job and has some new accessories.

Updates to the cars are minor, and apparently pander to their Californian audience by adding some beach-ready modifications. The DC100 gains a raisedstance, a new roof rack, and an intake snorkel for wading through deep water. It’s also now dressed in Heritage Blue paint with a Candy Weiss white roof. The DC100 Sport is unchanged, and retains its controversial open-top beachcomber looks and bright yellow paint job.

Land Rover is using the DC100 concepts to help gauge public reaction in the U.S. If it gets a positive review from L.A. show goers, it could help encourage the return of the Defender to our shores once the second-generation model makes its debut around2015.
