Not to have eager eyes grow bored, Lamborghini has dressed its upcoming LP700-4 “Aventador” in a new camouflage getup called “Tornado.” Trust us, it is just as angry as it was before.
As it should be, considering the rumored tenacious powerplant housed in its belly. Insiders say an all-new 6.5-liter V-12 making 691 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of grunt can propel this 3472-pound all-wheel-drive behemoth to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. But that’s not all. Keep the go pedal planted while shifting through the single-clutch automated manual gearbox and you’ll eventually see a claimed 217 mph.
Like its athletic body, carbon fiber comprises the six-piston front, four-piston rear brakes. They hide behind massively wide 19-inch/20-inch front/rear forged wheels. A racecar-like pushrod suspension underpins the bull’s hooves for supreme grip.
Excitement ahead of the car’s planned Geneva Show debut is high, to say the least. In Singapore, for example, publications are reporting that the region’s well-off have already pre-ordered 50 “Aventadors.”
