Now you see it; now you don’t. After a year’s absence from the U.S. marketplace, the Kia Borrego may return for the 2011 model year.
Wait — what ever happened to 2010? Introduced in late 2008, Kia saw poor sales of the Borrego after initial sales targets fell short. Kia never officially marketed a 2010 Borrego, according to its product literature, and it seemed like the Borrego has disappeared.
However, a quick look at Fueleconomy.gov shows that there seems to be a plan for a 2011 model. A Kia spokesperson could not comment on vehicle details, but said the model, if produced, is still in the planning stages. We’d expect the SUV to retain similar content levels and powertrain offerings (i.e. both a 3.8-liter V-6 and a 4.6-liter V-8) if it returns for MY’11.
