Japanese Snatch Up Entire LFA Allotment Ahead of Schedule

We recently reported on the incredible interest in the Lexus LFA in America, but it looks like the Japanese are even more eager to place orders for the supercar. Two months ahead of schedule, the entire Japanese market allotment of 165 LFAs has been “sold.”

According to Japanese website, the application window for prospective buyers was to be open from October 21, 2009 (just after the press days of the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show) to March 21, 2010, but was closed earlier today because every example of the 552-hp V-10 supercar was spoken for.

Unlike American buyers, who will only be able to get their LFAs on a two-year lease, Japanese customers get to buy their cars outright, at the hefty price of 37,500,000 Yen, or rough $410,000. And with at least 90 of the U.S.-bound cars already spoken for, it looks like Lexus is already more than halfway toward selling (or leasing) every last one.
