It's Official: Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat Coming by 2017

The Track Hawk cometh.

Sometimes, all you have to do is ask nicely. Apparently that's all it took to get the scoop on the long-rumored Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat, as Jeep brand head
Mike Manley outright confirmed -- on camera -- that the so-called Track Hawk will be coming before the end of 2017.

Judging by how much we enjoy romping around in the 475-hp Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, a Hellcat version sounds like complete mayhem. Whether or not the super-SUV gets the Track Hawk moniker, it will be sure to pack the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 that makes 707 hp in the Charger and Challenger Hellcat.

In addition to rampant rumors, we've also heard that Fiat Chrysler officials already showed off the monstrously powerful Jeep Grand Cherokee to Jeep dealers at a national conference in Las Vegas back in August. A major update is planned for all Jeep Grand Cherokee models in late 2017.

With as much as 707 hp at its brawny fingertips, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat or Track Hawk will easily outgun its competitors on the horsepower front. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR packs 550 hp, the BMW X5M has 567 hp, and the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S tops out at 577 hp.

We simply cannot wait to assemble all four for the ultimate all-wheel-drive showdown.
