IntelliChoice, AutoPacific Announce 2013 Motorist Choice Awards

Picking the best cars in 13 categories.

IntelliChoice and AutoPacific today announced their 2013 Motorist Choice Awards, the results of annual survey that combines AutoPacific’s owner-satisfaction survey of more than 50,000 car buyers, and IntelliChoice’s analysis of cost-of-ownership characteristics. Combining these metrics results in the Motorist Choice Awards. The awards are divided into 13 segments, which are then divided again into “Popular” and “Premium” divisions based on price.

“Whether you are looking for an eco-friendly vehicle, performance car, or people mover, the Motorist Choice Awards help shoppers choose a vehicle that fits their lifestyle and financial bottom line,” IntelliChoice’s Eric Anderson said in a statement. “Based on our research, we’re proud to recommend these vehicles to consumers.”

This year, the biggest winner was Toyota, with a total of five vehicles on the list: the Toyota Avalon Hybrid, the Toyota FJ Cruiser SUV, the Lexus ES, and the Lexus RX. The Ford Flex crossover won three different categories, while the Infiniti JX, Acura ILX, and Porsche Boxstereach scored in two categories. Repeat winners from last year’s Motorist Choice Awards comprise the Porsche Cayenne, Lexus CT200h, Volkswagen GTI, Hyundai Equus, Porsche Boxster, Chevrolet Corvette, and Mini Countryman.
