Infiniti is teasing a new powdered white concept car that will make its world debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show next month.
The automaker says the concept previews a new generation of Infiniti vehicles and showcases the company’s new form language.
It sports deep, triangular groves that run along the hood lines, black headlamps and air ducts, an all white grille with slots, and a gray Infiniti badge.
The concept is likely to be a hybrid or all-electric Q series model from our initial impressions.
“As a new wave of technologies begins to take shape, our Detroit concept car herald s a new generation of Infiniti. A seamless and stunning new design philosophy demonstrating Infiniti artistry in the new age of autonomy and breakthrough drivetrains,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti SVP Global Design, in a statement.
“In Detroit, shown alongside Prototype 9, Infiniti aims to showcase a new elegance, one that strikes harmony and simplicity in a complex world.”
Infiniti’s Prototype 9 concept is an all-electric racecar that made its debut during Monterey Car Week earlier this year. Prototype 9 is powered by a 30 kWH EV motor that produces 148 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque.
If the cars are being shown together it is likely to be a more practical all-electric sedan or coupe.
“The new Infiniti concept car will take the traditional sedan architecture to its next stage of evolution,” said Karim Habib, Infiniti executive design director, in a release.
“A shift toward smarter, more compact and less intrusive powertrains; we were able to create an alternative form with flowing gestures, more engaging in character and more enriching in experience. With its long cabin, balanced proportions and muscular stance, the concept heralds in a new era for Infiniti models.”
Tune in next month as more details continue to be revealed ahead of the Detroit car show.
