Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo Leads the Way for new N Sub-Brand

The newest Vision Gran Turismo concept.

After announcing its new “N” performance sub-brand a few weeks ago, Hyundai took the wraps off a stunning Vision Gran Turismo concept at the 2015 Frankfurt auto show.

Called the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo, the wild concept features a unique hydrogen fuel cell system, with a combined total output of 872 hp. The powertrain functions on a system of two fuel cell stacks pushing out 670 hp, with an additional 201 hp from a super capacitor, charged through recaptured energy harnessed through braking. All of this power is routed to the wheels through four independent electric motors mounted in each wheel.

A carbon fiber monocoque keeps the overall weight of the car low, tipping the scales at just 2,143 lbs. The 2025 Vision Gran Turismo has blistering performance, enough to keep up with the other virtual Vision Gran Turismo cars from manufacturers like Bugatti, Chevrolet, and SRT. A sculpted body routs air to the massive rear wing, assisted by what Hyundai describes as a “boat-shaped” underbody design.

While this car will remain tethered to the virtual world with no chance of production, Hyundai previewed a more realistic future of its new “N” performance division with other Frankfurt debuts including a WRC entrant based on the i20 and a strange mid-engined Veloster concept called the RM15 (pictured below).
