Hamann Decks Out McLaren MP4-12C memoR With Wild Colors

It’s clear that German tuner Hamann didn’t think that the styling of the 2013 McLaren MP4-12C wasn’t wild enough. Hamann has now upped the ante adding a tasteful aero kit to the supercar, as well as a wild and colorful paintjob.

Let’s start with that multi-hued color scheme. Hamann says that the memoR wears “an opulent explosion of color” and that “the refined two-seater will transform ugly streets into palatial catwalks, clothing its passengers in magnificent haute couture.” We think that it looks like a blend the Jeff Koons-designed BMW Art Car and a kindergartener’s finger-painting. Hamann has swirled a rainbow-sized palette onto the memoR to create an eye-catching car, to say the least.

The wild paint job isn’t the only exterior change to take MP4 to memoR – there is a new (and surprisingly understated) carbon fiber body kit that Hamann claims was inspired by the design of the 1995 McLaren F1 that includes a front spoiler with integrated LED daytime running lights, side extensions, large rear wing, an enlarged roof scoop, new rear diffuser, and three (instead of two) tailpipes. Unique, one-piece, lightweight 21-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 255/20ZR21 rubber up front and 355/25ZR21 at the rear complete the exterior package.

Inside, Hamann offers either carbon fiber or wood trim on the memoR; however, customers are welcome to work with the tuners craftsmen to create a one-off interior.

Pricing for the Hamann memoR McLaren MP4-12C costs $124,000 (€95,000) on top of the $231,400 starting price of a 2013 MP4-12C.
