If you had a sweet rally car, sponsors and a bunch of space, you still couldn’t make a video as cool as Ken Block. He and the guys at DC Shoes have managed to tap into something that has made their Gymkhana Video Series something that defies logic in its popularity. With over 90,000,000 views so far, the viral phenomenon has added two awards, YouTube’s official list of the “Top 10 Videos of 2010” and Ad Age’s list of “Top Viral Videos of 2010” to its list of accomplishments.
”When we filmed the first Gymkhana video, we had no clue it would turn out to be such a huge success, it wasn’t some planned marketing scheme,” said DC Co-Founder/Chief Brand Officer and professional rally racer Ken Block. “Gymkhana Practice was simply a few days out having fun, hooning my car around an empty airfield. But since then, the pressure has been on to keep outdoing ourselves, so I couldn’t be more stoked that with each Gymkhana film we continue to one up the success of the previous video.”
For those of you who haven’t seen the videos, and I can’t believe any car fan with an internet connection hasn’t, they consist of Ken Block showing insane amounts of car control drifting, sliding and otherwise donuting around various obstacles and landscapes while showing a clear and blatant disregard for the welfare of his tires. If you bottled horsepower, immaturity and awesome, it would be a thick pulpy concoction that tastes like these videos.

We know that most of you probably feel that Gymkhana One is amazing and ground breaking. Two was a thinly veiled shoe commercial that truly lived up to the sophomore curse.
