FT-86 Coupe is Scion Bound, But Should It Stay as a Toyota?

The FT-86 is summing up to be a much-needed jolt for Toyota, but would it perform better under the Scion banner?

The FT-86, with its rear-drive layout and two-door credentials, has been hotly pursued by Toyota and Subaru enthusiasts alike ever since word broke of its presence. According to the latest report from the Wall Street Journal, the FT-86 is bound for the Scion brand, a decision long rumored and likely necessitated by the brand’s ailing business case. With xB, xD, and tC sales merely in the tepid range, the FT-86 and iQ will be crucial additions should Toyota want to continue Scion’s foray in the United States.

The FT-86 is expected to have a base price tag in the mid-$20,000s and a concept was unveiled during last year’s Tokyo auto show.

Would you rather see the FT-86 with a Scion or Toyota crest?
