Ford Teams Up With Yahoo! Reality Show to Promote Focus Electric

If you didn’t win the lottery but are still itching to drive a new Ford Focus Electric, you may still have your chance. Ford and Yahoo! have collaborated for a new reality show on Yahoo! Screen. “Plugged In” will pit competitors against one another to win a new Ford Focus Electric.

Contestants will drive a Ford Focus Electric around their home towns to complete different tasks and challenges. Local celebrities will host the show and clues will be sent to the teams via video, text, and audio through the car’s Sync with MyFord Touch system. And, of course, the teams will use the car’s navigation system to reach their destinations. Show locations include Los Angeles; New York; Chicago; Washington D.C.; San Francisco; Seattle; Austin, Texas; Atlanta; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Boston.

Since this is an online show, viewers are encouraged to comment and upload photos of their hometowns after each episode. Casting is currently underway; the show’s online schedule will be announced in a few weeks. Last month Ford and NBC revealed a reality show called “Escape Routes” that featured the 2013 Ford Escape crossover. Would you be more likely to consider buying a new car if it appeared on a reality show?
