Fiat and Smeg Create Classic 500-Inspired Refrigerator

There’s a new version of the Fiat 500, but this one won’t be hitting the streets anytime soon. Fiat and Smeg have just announced that they’re building a 500 refrigerator based on the original 500, as part of the Fiat 500 Design Collection.

The Smeg 500 fridge is designed to be the ultimate appliance for hardcore fans of the original Fiat 500 from 1957. Designed especially for drinks, the refrigerator uses the front half of the rear-engined 500 to store and cool bottles and cans. Drinks are kept cool in the frunk, with the 500’s bumpers, trim, and working headlights serving as added decoration. The 500 fridge features three bottle holders, and a shelf dedicated to cans. It’s available in the colors of the Italian flag: white, red, and green.

The Fiat 500 refrigerator joins a range of 500-inspired products including a sofa and an array of tables. Though pricing has yet to be announced, you can check out the 500 fridge at
