Feature Flick: Volvo Truck Gets Chased by Bulls

Volvo enlists the help of some angry bulls to show off the agility of its new FL truck.

Volvo has been subjecting its new line of trucks to all kinds of crazy challenges recently, and the latest is a chase through the streets of Spain. This challenge involves much larger animals than the hamster featured in a previous challenge, as the Volvo FL truck is painted red to taunt a herd of aggressive Spanish bulls.

Intended to show the agility of Volvo’s newest truck, this video entitled “The Chase” shows the truck traversing a course through the streets of Ciudad Rodrigo, a small town in Spain. To keep ahead of the herd of bulls, the driver had to maintain a speed of at least 30 kilometers per hour. This task was made even more difficult by the terrain of the old city, which included cobblestones, narrow tunnels, and sharp curves.

“The bulls maintained a consistently high speed and were really close sometimes, but the truck handled the corners very well so it was just a matter of driving. There was a whole lot happening, but the truck helped me the whole way,” said the driver Rob Hunt.

In one previous video, Volvo steered a truck out of a quarry using a hamster wheel; in another, Volvo Trucks president Claes Nilsson stood on top of a Volvo FMX truck which was suspended from a crane, demonstrating the strength of the truck’s front tow hook.
