Feature Flick: Take Flight With A 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible

In cars, a swansong is the last major push in a model’s life; in ornithology, a swan is a bird that’s generally white. Today’s Feature Flick, courtesy of Motor Trend, involves the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible — which abides by both characteristics.
Yes, the 427 Convertible is white, and it’s the last major Corvette model introduction we’ll see before a new C7 bows sometime next year. The 427 is a Corvette convertible that takes most of its major running gear from the Z06 coupe, including its 7.0-liter V-8 pumping out 505 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The same can be said for its super-sticky Michelin tires, magnetorheological dampers, and select carbon fiber body panels.
How did the heated-up convertible fare? Fairly well. MT Associate Road Test Editor Carlos Lago found–as we did months ago in our review–that little is lost in the convertible conversion and that the 427 keeps the Corvette’s classic brute force magic, even if the interior is (as before) a bit lacking.
