Feature Flick: SRT Shows Off its Family Tree

Since SRT was spun off into its own brand, Chrysler’s performance arm has been working on building up its image and reminding people that the Street and Racing Technology vehicles are about more than just high horsepower. According to this new video, SRT vehicles represent “the pinnacle of Chrysler performance”.

SRT currently offers five models: high-performance versions of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger; and the upcoming 2013 SRT Viper. The four former models all share the same naturally-aspirated 6.4-liter V-8 powertrain, rated at 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque (465 lb-ft for the Jeep) mated to a five-speed automatic; the Chrysler and Dodges are rear-wheel drive, while the Jeep is four-wheel drive. The SRT Viper packs an 8.4-liter V-10 producing a whopping 600 hp and 640 lb-ft; unsurprisingly, a six-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels.

In this clip, SRT shows off its entire model line and treats our ears to the sounds of the V-8 and V-10 engines, as well as letting us feast our eyes on a couple of epic power slides. Check it out in the video below.
