We all need to enjoy the fresh air sometimes, and after being displayed in Geneva this week, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible needs to step outside, too. Check out the open-air off-roader in action in the video below.
Although the Evoque is the smallest Range Rover in the Land Rover lineup, it doesn’t mean it comes up short on off-road capability. That doesn’t seem to change much either for the drop-top version, as it’s shown romping a plaza in London, taking on twisties, traversing dirt trails, and driving on sand at the beach. We even get to see the more modest side of the convertible, as it covers up with its soft-top in the video, although only for a second. With the top up, the Evoque’s rakish profile has become less daring, but is still quite stylish.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralph Speth said at the Geneva show this week that there is high demand for the 2012 Range Rover Evoque across all markets, and we think it’s possible the Range Rover Evoque Convertible would get the same reception if produced. However, the Nissan Murano Crosscabriolet has been there and done that, and sales numbers seem to show buyers aren’t very interested.
What do you think of Range Rover’s Convertible concept? Do you think there is a market for it here in the U.S.?
