Feature Flick: Playing Frisbee With The Mazda MX-5 Miata

Frisbee-throwing fun in a Miata.

We may have mentioned that we have a thing for the Mazda MX-5 Miata. It was our first ever Automobile of the Year, in 1989; we can’t get enough time behind the wheel whenever Mazda drops one off at our office; and several Automobile staff members own Miatas of various vintages. Turns out, though, that there’s another way to have fun with the roadster: Ultimate Frisbee.

This video shows two professional Frisbee players throwing a disc back and forth between a pair of Mazda MX-5 Miatas. They throw the Frisbee from moving cars, from towers to moving cars, and even between cars sliding alongside one another.

The clip is part of a promotion by Mazda U.K. called “Fun In The Sun.” In addition to videos like this one, the campaign lets Mazda MX-5 Miata fans enter to win a free car for the entire summer. All interested drivers have to do is sign up to test drive a new Mazda MX-5 Miata at a dealership, and they are automatically entered in the drawing.

Watch the Frisbee-throwing Miata video below and, if you live in the U.K., sign up for a chance to win a summer-long loan of our favorite cheap roadster.
