A single McLaren MP4-12C on its own is quite a sight and a race-prepped GT3 all the more special, but nine of them? Feast your eyes on this.
In preparation for the historic Total 24 Hours of Spa endurance race later this month, the nine – yes, nine – McLaren MP4-12C GT3s will make their racing debuts run by customer teams. This year’s race is the fourth in the series and the flagship race of the 2012 Blancpain Endurance Series. Of the nine MP4-12C GT3s, there will be six different liveries represented; our favorite is the classic blue-and-orange Gulf livery.
“All teams racing a 12C GT3 feature top drivers in their line-ups and, with more than 60 cars on the grid, so too do our competitors,” said McLaren Automotive Chief Test Driver Chris Goodwin. “[The brand] has put in a big effort to test and prepare for this great event and we hope the 12C GT3 will be very competitive in the hands of our customers.”
In case you forgot, the McLaren MP4-12C is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 good for 617 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Take a gander and a listen to the video below to hear the 12C’s engine singing and to revel in the six different liveries as the nine 12C GT3s traverse the Spa circuit.
