Feature Flick: NASCAR Racer Takes Ford Engineers for Ride of their Lives

Ford recently decided to get its engineers out of the office by sending them to what they thought was an ordinary commercial shoot. What the engineers got was the ride-along opportunity of a lifetime with NASCAR racer Carl Edwards in a 365-hp 2013 Ford Taurus SHO.

Titled “Rocket Science,” these four short videos feature Edwards hooning around at Infineon Raceway while some very nervous Ford engineers ride shotgun. The four episodes are named after Taurus SHO features: EcoBoost, High-Tech Thrill Ride, Blind Spot Pursuit, and Screaming MPG. During each video, Edwards takes the Taurus SHO around the track while the Ford engineers try to casually talk about the features they were charged with designing. Sure, it’s not-so-subtle advertising, but this is fun advertising.
