Feature Flick: Motor Trend Tests the McLaren MP4-12C, Technical Wunderkind

Today’s supercar is an intoxicating blend of haute design and high technology, mixed with liberal amounts of power and torque. When it comes to high technology, however, one car stands a bit above the rest: the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C. Today’s video joins Motor Trend as it finds just how far the MP4-12C’s legendary technology can go on the track.

We’ve heard plenty about the McLaren, about its trick independent rear suspension, ultralight carbon fiber construction, and active aerodynamics, but Ignition shows what happens when those technologies come together into a cohesive package. That package, by the way, can get from 0-60 miles an hour in just 3.2 seconds thanks to its twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8.

Join MT’s Carlos Lago and a very orange MP4-12C in the video below and let us know what you think.
