Feature Flick: Two Lamborghini Aventadors Frolic Around Rome

The Lamborghini Aventador promo vid from yesterday apparently wasn’t the only video released by Lamborghini this week. This time, two Aventadors are seen cruising through Rome and playing on country back roads.  Although the situation in these two clips isn’t as dire as yesterday’s escape from Armageddon, they do show the Aventador doing things it might actually do in the real world: speeding through winding roads, and making glorious noises in the process.

The first video shows the two Aventadors, one painted white and the other that characteristically flamboyant bright orange, frolicking on the streets of Rome. Beginning in the Aventador’s cockpit— which looks like it could have been pulled straight out of the Italian space program (if one existed)—a driver is seen hitting the start-stop button, bringing the car’s 6.5-liter V-12 heart to life. The video then shows the two Lambos drive by the Coliseum and St. Peter’s Basilica, among other Roman landmarks, showcasing more of the city than the cars themselves. While this one’s very pretty, the next video’s a bit more exciting.

The same two orange and white cars are now outside of Rome’s city limits enjoying some winding country roads. They cruise past a lake, and then one driver puts his Lambo into “sport” mode—letting the viewer know it’s time to get serious. Some spirited driving follows, with each car making an occasional pass on the other. The Aventador’s V-12 has plenty of opportunities to climb up into the higher rpms in this video, allowing the exhaust note to even drown out the music at times. The two cars apparently find a long enough stretch of road to get up to speed, as we see the retractable wing pop up on the orange Lambo.

While perhaps not as exciting as seeing the Aventador outrun the end of the world, these videos are still worth a watch.
