Feature Flick: Ken Block Wants A Ford Fiesta For All (Rally) Seasons

What do you get when you add the likes of Stage Rally, Rallycross and Gymkhana together? A Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle. No, it doesn’t have an electric motor or lithium-ion batteries, but it does transform into the ultimate ride for all three types of racing, and it’s all Ken Block’s.

The three types of racing are like triplets – they are all similar, yet different. Each one requires a different purpose-built vehicle, but the hybrid hooner is like a chameleon, morphing into the best racer fit for each type. Built on the Ford Fiesta RS WRC platform, its 2.0-liter turbo engine is capable of thrusting Block through crazy courses decorated with slaloms and cones for Gymkhana, or the mixed-surface racing circuits of Rallycross with 600 horses and 665 lb-ft of torque.

The video guides you through the Fiesta’s transformations into the ultimate racer needed for each style of racing, all with some pretty nifty music in the background. Things like dampers and spring rates are added for Gymkhana, while the radiator moves from the rear to the front for Stage Rally.

After each metamorphosis, the hyper-hybrid takes to the track. See what other transformations transpire in this street legal monster in the video below.
