Feature Flick: Ken Block Puts an Interesting Twist on the Ford-Holden Rivalry at the Drag Strip

Ken Block recently stopped in Australia to show off his hooning skills to the land down under as part of his Gymkhana World Tour. In between test-driving (and spinning) an Aussie V8 Supercar racer, and doing donuts around a Segway, Block found the time to line up at the drag strip in his Fiesta Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle (H.F.H.V.) to race 2009 V8 Supercar series champion Jamie Whincup in his Holden Commodore – helping the crowds decide once and for all which is better, Ford or GM.

On paper, the turbocharged, all-wheel drive 600-hp Ford Fiesta and naturally-aspirated, rear- drive 650-hp Holden Commodore are pretty evenly matched for the drag race. Though Whincup jumped the gun early in the first race, causing a false start, the second race is much more interesting. Check out the turbo-four versus big-honking V-8 battle for yourself below.
