Feature Flick: Jay Z and Kanye West to Auction Hacked Up Maybach, Donate Proceeds to Charity

Jay Z and Kanye West’s first full-length album collaboration, Watch the Throne, dropped earlier this week followed closely by the first music video for the single “Otis,” which surfaced yesterday. In the video Jay Z and Kanye chop up a black Maybach sedan and proceed to use it for automotive hoonery. The hacked-up luxury liner from the video will be auctioned later with proceeds donated to charity.

Modifications to the Maybach include: removing the roof and doors; adding wide-body fender flares fabricated from sheet-metal; swapping locations of the hood and grill with the trunk lid; and mounting the doors above the top of the rear quarter panels – as if they are floating in a “Back to the Future” Time Machine/”Mad Max Thunderdome” tribute.

If you can make it past the self-gratifying lyrics of the two rappers you can witness the Maybach drifting and shooting flames as they hoon the near-$400,000 luxury car with four girls screaming in the back. At the very end of the video a message appears saying, “The vehicle used in this visual will be offered up for auction. Proceeds will be donated towards the East African Drought Disaster.”

Proceeds from the Maybach’s auction will be donated for ongoing efforts to feed starving children and families in the Horn of Africa. According to USAID estimates more than 30,000 people have died and 12 million people in the region are still in need. Auction details will be released at a later date.

Still, one wonders if the Maybach in question could bring in more money than what was spent to initially buy it and then destroy it. Let us know in the comments below if you think the car will sell for more than what was invested in it. You can watch the video here.
