Feature Flick: Hyundai Promotes Veloster Turbo/Asphalt 7 Heat with Stop-Motion Lego Video

As car enthusiasts, we’ve all heard jokes about Hyundai’s cars being made of inferior materials, or looking like toy cars, but Hyundai decided to turn the tables on its haters by promoting the Veloster Turbo with a stop-motion video featuring actual toy cars.

The car in question is a yellow Veloster Turbo–in plastic toy-car replica form–which goes on a 90-second sprint race against some non-descript, winged Lego car through a Lego-fied world. If it all looks a little familiar, it’s because Hyundai is also promoting the virtual Veloster Turbo, which stars in the new Asphalt 7 Heat video game for iOS devices.

All in all the car proves to be a worthy adversary, although we think that the gratuitous shots of the Veloster Turbo drifting around corners would be hard to recreate in real life, thanks to the car’s front-wheel drive layout and optional super sticky Michelin Pilot Sport tires. As to the question of whether it beats the white Lego racer or not…you’ll have to watch the video, then let us know what you think about it all in the comments section below.
