Feature Flick: Hennessey Venom GT Breezes Through 70 to 215 MPH

/strong>The tried and true 0-60 mph test is so 2010 — at least to the Hennessey Venom GT it is. For more than a year, Hennessey Performance has teased us with its latest creation, which is essentially a Lotus Elise/Exige body modified to handle the Chevy LS9 engine (from the Corvette ZR1) with a max output of 1,200 hp.

Now that the Venom GT talked the talk (on paper), it’s time to walk the walk. The following video focuses on the Venom GT’s speedometer and the unreal speed at which the needle moves from 70 to 215 mph. Watch it a second time and observe the fuel gauge rise slightly after the sprint. A malfunction or the automotive equivalent of an endorphin rush? Whatever it is, we like it. And we’d also like more videos of the Venom GT in action.
