Feature Flick: Hennessey Camaro ZL1 At The Texas Mile

The Texas Mile is infamous by now: it’s a yearly tribute to acceleration and crazy top-speed numbers. This year, Motor Trend‘s Jessi Lang strapped on a helmet and took a Hennessey Performance-tuned Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 down the runway as fast as she could.

The premise of the Texas Mile is simple: take one 8000-foot runway, and give entrants one mile to go as fast as possible, and one half-mile to stop. As you might expect, the results are pretty amazing: just this year a Ford GT (tuned by Hennessey Performance) reached 267.6 miles an hour at the end of a mile. But Lang wasn’t behind the wheel: instead, she took one of Hennessey’s showroom-fresh Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s–the HPE 750 edition, making 750 horsepower—for a very fast ride.

In the end both car and driver reached some pretty impressive numbers. Check out exactly what those numbers were by watching the video below.
