BMW finally gave us an official first look of the 2012 BMW M5 last month. While we got into the nitty-gritty details of the F10 M5, we didn’t get to take in the sights and sounds of BMW’s latest and greatest. Well now we can. Some Spanish automotive journalists got their hands on the new M5 and produced two videos worth of B-Roll; one of the new M5 cruising the Spanish countryside, and another with some close-up looks at the latest M car’s interior.
The first video is probably the more interesting of the two. It features the new 555-hp V-8 powered M5 driving around Spain. While this particular driver doesn’t have a particularly heavy left foot, he still puts his foot into the throttle enough that we can hear the pleasant burble from the M5’s new twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 as the car leisurely takes in the Spanish countryside. How that driver fought the urge to really stomp on the right pedal is beyond us, but until we can get our hands on the new M5, this will have to do.
The second video is more B-Roll material. No, a stationary BMW M5 isn’t perhaps the most exciting fodder, but this video is still somewhat interesting. With birds chirping peacefully in the background, this video gives us a look at some of the smaller details of the cabin (did you know the M5 has nine buttons placed next to the gear shifter? Yeah, we’re counting…) and shows us the intricacies of the iDrive.. Our favorite detail are perhaps the new M5’s massive front brakes and monogrammed calipers.
