Feature Flick: Dustin Hoffman Shills For Fiat 500 Ads

When we think of Dustin Hoffman, we can’t help but think of that red Alfa Romeo Spyder Duetto he piloted in The Graduate. Still, the famed actor is now shilling for a different Italian brand: Fiat. In fact, the actor now appears in Brazilian ads for the retro-chic 500.

The spot, titled “Casting,” compares Hoffman to one of Brazil’s biggest (literally and figuratively) soap opera stars, Ricardo Macchi, who stands about 2 feet taller than Hoffman, as they each deliver a few serious lines. The whole point behind this commercial was to prove that size doesn’t necessarily mean quality, and again plays with the idea that the 500 “doesn’t have to be big to be a big car.”

Who do you take more seriously?
