When the gearheads at BMW’s M GmbH want to send out holiday cards, they do things a little differently. As shown in this short video, BMW hired illustrator Gavin Patterson to draw a Christmas card while riding in a 2012 BMW M5.
Patterson rides shotgun in the M5 while BMW precision driver Urs Inauen makes his way around a race track in eastern France. Unfortunately for our illustrator, Inauen spends his time drifting and sliding the M5, with the tires spewing trails of smoke as the car pirouettes around the circuit. You can imagine the effect that has on someone trying to draw while inside the car.
The finished Christmas card isn’t really of the same caliber as a Hallmark creation, but the video is a great excuse to a see a 560-hp BMW getting slideways around a race track. Check out the video below to see how the world’s fastest Christmas card turns out.
