Feature Flick: Carroll Shelby Remembered on Hot Rod Unlimited

Even though Carroll Shelby passed away weeks ago the automotive world is still paying tribute to the legend. This week on Hot Rod Unlimited we pay tribute to the man that had so much involvement with legacy sister publications Motor Trend and Hot Rod.

Hot Rod editor-in-chief David Freiburger starts by explaining our relationship with Shelby. A series of Motor Trend and Hot Rod editors then take over, explaining how the histories of the two magazines and Petersen Publishing have intertwined with Shelby’s legacy.

Next Bob D’Olivo, Petersen’s director of photography from 1952 until 1996, shows off many rare, unseen, and forgotten photos of Shelby, including shots of Shelby after wrecking his racecar at Carrera Panamericana Mexico and breaking his elbow.
