The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagon will haul your 10-year old and her entire soccer team’s gear to practice and back at a blistering velocity. Justin Bell, host of World’s Fastest Car Show, reports from lovely Willow Springs to whip around the track in AMG’s wicked wagon. Although Mercedes’s fleet includes sexier models like the SLS AMG GT, Bell proudly chooses the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagon.
His lap times prove he made a solid choice.
Powered by a 577-hp 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 bearing the signature of the single AMG worker who assembled it, this extreme 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Wagon shows it can hang with the big boys. Posting an 11.7-second quarter-mile time at 120.4 mph, with a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds that bests that of the Porsche Carrera 4S, BMW M5, and Chevrolet Corvette Z51, Bell demonstrates the wagon’s serious chops.
“It just feels like it’s going to take off and never stop!” says Bell, who was equally impressed with the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Wagon’s balance and poise through corners.
The 2014 E63 AMG uses Mercedes-Benz’s 4 Matic all-wheel-drive, sending 33% power to the front wheels and 67% to the rear. This ratio appears to have achieved a remarkable equilibrium, as Bell reports the 4703-lb E63 AMG feels nimble and sporty throughout the track. The kids who hopped in the back seat looked to be enjoying a ride they won’t soon forget.
