Ever since rumors of its return began simmering even before the curtains fell on its predecessor, interest in the new SRT Viper has been intense. In late 2011 came official word that the new Viper would be the first bespoke product from the newly-minted SRT division. Now that we’ve seen it in all its glory in both production and race trims, we came across a new video teasing the Viper GTS-R’s official track debut at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge just a few weeks away on August 2-4.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen footage of the new Viper getting a workout at the track, with some videos from earlier this month showing the car testing at Virginia International Raceway and Carolina Motorsports Park, as well as the formal announcement Friday by SRT of the GTS-R’s Mid-Ohio Debut.
Since its debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show, and even before, the SRT Viper has lit up the interwebs with enthusiasts’ interest.
It may seem like we’ve been snake-bitten, but if there’s one thing we know about WOT [Rumors] readers, it seems there’s no such thing as too much Viper. Take a look and listen to the video clip below, and enjoy the Viper’s 8.4 liters of V-10 fury at wide-open whack.
