Fiat certainly makes interesting choices in terms of celebrity endorsements. After a series of much-maligned ads with Jennifer Lopez for the debut of the 500 in 2011, Fiat has again turned to none other than Charlie Sheen for the newest commercial for the 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio.
In this latest ad, entitled “Charlie’s Island,” Mr. Sheen has somehow ended up on stranded on a desert island with a 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio and two flirty mermaids. Charlie seems to be making the best of the situation, though, as he joyfully darts around the small island, soaking up the sun in his Fiat while his enthusiastic companions marvel at the Cabrio’s retractable roof. The scandalous twist near the end is unsurprising considering Mr. Sheen’s recent reputation for a less-than-wholesome lifestyle, but let’s just say that it highlights the topless version of the Fiat 500 Abarth.
We can’t argue with the undeniable fun factor of the hotted-up Abarth models of the 2013 Fiat 500 and 500 Cabrio, though. The spunky, 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 160 hp and makes for quite a lot of zip in a car as small as the 500. The 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio starts at $26,700 with destination.
