Feature Flick: 2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible Laps the Green Hell

The 2012 Jaguar XKR-S convertible made its debut at the 2011 Los Angeles auto show. where it looked rather dapper. The pre-production model featured in this video, however, is the complete opposite.

Like we’ve stated before, this is the fastest drop-top convertible Jaguar has ever produced. It’s powered by a 5.0-liter, supercharged V-8-engine is rated at 550 hp; 0-60 mph happens in just 4.2 seconds. Jaguar is staying mum on the best lap time its new ‘vert achieved on the Nurburgring, and will only say that it finished in under eight seconds.

If you want one, then you’re out of luck – all 25 units of the $138,875 convertible allocated for the States for 2012 have been spoken for.
